Event Planning Forum

Hello all,

I am new and very excited to share this forum. I recently started planning social events and am very excited about my journey. My first event was a week ago. I planned a Moroccan Birthday party for a gentleman. Although the budget was extremely tight, it seemed to be a hit.

Next up: Mad Hatter Tea Party this weekend for a 7 year old girl.

Upcoming: Summer Pool Party for Teens, 40th Birthday party for female and Family Bonding Celebration for a family with 6 kids! Any suggestions are welcome. I am stressed but having fun! Never thought that was possible. :)

congrats on your success! how are you attracting clients?
Thank you for your support. You know, I am simply offering my services to my friends and family for free and I pass my biz cards out to their guests. I need to broaden my marketing efforts but am still trying to determine the best way to tackle this in my market. I live in Los Angeles County and we have some of the most sought after wedding and event planners in this area, which makes tapping into high net worth clientele a bit tough. I figured word of mouth was the best form of advertising and certainly the cheapest, so with time and effort, I am hoping it will pay off over time.

If you are looking for a fun creative craft idea for your mad hatter party, google paper bag hats..this will bring up the Family Fun website which has directions to make fancy mad hatter hats out of grocery bags. We used this idea for a Mad Hatter Tea Party themed party and it was a huge hit with everyone.

Hi Pallavi, it would have been more interesting if u colud post few snaps of your events.
Congratulations Pallavi, welcome to the fascinating world of creativity and fun.

I have some few ideas for the summer pool party for teens:

Decorate the area with plenty of lifesavers
Try to put one colorfull beach umbrela over each table or on the grass(or sand) all over the place.
Have as many inflatable beach balls as possible to decorate the pool
Fix a center piece full of suncsreen lotion bottles, palstic sunglasess, caps and hats.
Have a volleyball court for them to play on a tournament.
Hire a couple of nice looking models (male and female) to play as referees, wearing swiming suits.
Have a Dee jay playing beach boy´s greatest hits.
Set a cocktail bar with non alcoholic "exotic" beverages, decorated with palm trees, bamboos and leaves
Have a bar tender doing some tricks (Tom Cruise´s Cocktail style).
Reserve some space for dance on the grass or sand (no dance floor, please).
Give away inflatable matresses to float on the pool
Be prepared with candlelights to light them when the night arrives, or to welcome your guests if your event is alreadty programed to start at night.
Play with the music to change the mood...start with cool beach rythms...finish with everybody dancing!!

Best Regards,

Jorge
